Social Media and Author Platforms

So, is Twitter a cocktail party or a dumpster fire? Is Instagram really that shallow? And how long before Facebook becomes our overlord? Social media can be a powerful tool for writers to connect with readers and the wider industry. It can enable you to establish a voice and a public persona, draw an audience to your work, and build an engaged and active community. It can even offer a new outlet for your creativity. But, it can also be a daunting and complex prospect for the uninitiated and a *massive* waste of time. This workshop will take you through the finer points of the main social platforms and explore some of the strategies writers use to successfully break through the digital noise.
